In our last post we covered our first five tips to achieving social media success starting with: setting goals; how to stay organised; making it personal; targeting your audience; and making friends. Part two provides our last five tips on how to achieve and maintain social media success.
6. Make sharing easy to achieve social media success
If you don’t ask, you don’t get. A simple ask such as “please retweet” increases your chance of retweets by four times. Also staying within the 90 – 120 characters also makes it easier to retweet. Engaging your network to reach out to their network helps you continue to build a strong player base.
7. Creating a community
You’ve created your network but now you want to build your community. There are a few simple steps you can take to do this. Using psychological motivators like rewards, bragging rights and public acknowledgement can help. You can also congratulate top scorers, plan giveaways etc. But why does this matter? Because they will tell their friends who might be interested in your game and ultimately drive more traffic to your game and increase installs.
8. Use eye catching visuals
You want to catch a users attention then create an eye catching visual. It’s a great way to show off your app’s graphics. Twitter is a great tool as it now integrates Vines so you can set up previews of gameplay. Showing users how your app works can help generate more installs than just seeing an icon and description in the apps store.
9.Make it easy to download your game
While your busy building your network and engaging with your audience, don’t forget to make it simple to download your app. You should always add your app store page on all your social media profiles. Also ensuring that you have a call to action in your posts can also drive your audience to take your desired action.
10. Monitor your activity
Finally you have done all of this work, don’t forget to stop once and awhile to take stock. You are looking to see where your social strengths lie, what is working or isn’t working. Don’t forget to also engage with both positive and negative feedback. White it is counter-productive to address every negative review, engaging with repeat issues creates an echo-effect and shows your users that you respond and understand.
